What is Haunted Manor?

Haunted Manor is Noillirk played as a lantern-lit journey through a mysterious house. You get the same ten daily prompts as everyone else, 30 seconds for each, while a little explorer waits at the open door. Give an answer the game accepts and your points carry the explorer further: through the corridors, up the stairs and toward the last lit window. The more common your answer, the further you go.

It is the same Daily you play on the home page, with the same questions, scores and saved progress. Here, the reward for a good guess is another piece of the house coming to life.

How the manor journey works

The same Noillirk rules, with points that carry your lantern through the house.

  1. 30 seconds, one familiar answer

A prompt names a category, such as a capital city, a kind of pasta or a musical instrument. Type the answer you think most people would give and submit before time runs out. Many answers can count.

  2. Find your scoring band

Each prompt has a prepared top-ten board, our estimate of how 100 people would answer. Your position decides your band. It is not a live poll of players.

    • Off the Board10 points
    • Top 1025 points
    • Top 550 points
    • Runner-up75 points
    • #1 Answer100 points
  3. Points open up the house

Scoring answers move your explorer along the corridors and up the stairs. In a ten-question run, a perfect score takes you all the way to the last room. Later Daily questions count up to ×4, for a perfect total of 2,500 points.

  4. Next when you are ready

After each move, the result shows your band, your points and the board's top five answers. Take in the scene, then press Next or Enter for the next prompt. The scoring guide explains every band and question weight.

A lantern-carrying explorer at the manor's open door, beside the grand staircase.
Your first stop: the Lantern Vestibule.

Six floors, 24 rooms, one lantern

Four rooms on each floor, connected by a continuous stair route. A perfect ten-question run of 2,500 points reaches the Last Lit Window.

The West Wing's four candlelit rooms: a great clock, a round library, a grand piano and a portrait gallery.
The West Wing. The portraits watch. The piano plays. The clock keeps a secret.
The Glass Wing's moonlit rooms, filled with ferns, orange trees, a flower pedestal and a lily pond.
The Glass Wing. A whole garden growing indoors. Follow the lantern light through the leaves.
The upper floor with astronomical instruments, a starry observatory, storm-facing windows and a giant clock.
The Upper House. Higher in the house, even the ceiling has another sky.
  1. Floor 1

    The Ground Floor

An open door. A warm lamp. Dinner with a mind of its own.

  2. Floor 2

    The West Wing

Watchful portraits, a restless library and an empty piano.

  3. Floor 3

    The Sealed Floor

Hidden passages, a puppet theatre and an impatient reflection.

  4. Floor 4

    The Glass Wing

A garden in the dark, where a sleeping moonflower waits.

  5. Floor 5

    The Upper House

Stars indoors. A storm at the window. A clock above it all.

  6. Floor 6

    The Forgotten Attic

Keys, memories and the window that stayed lit.

A house that notices you

Look closely as you pass. Plates rise from the empty dining table. A melody plays from a piano with nobody at the keys. At the Clock Door, the turning hands reveal a passage missing from the plans.

Higher up, your reflection arrives before you do. The Glass Wing holds a sleeping moonflower that opens as your explorer reaches it. In the Observatory, a constellation traces the outline of the very house you are exploring.

The house has its own sound, too: doors, piano notes, clockwork and a quiet theme. Music and effects have separate controls, and the journey works with sound off. Every result waits for Next, so you can take your time between prompts.

Changing the scenery keeps your Daily, answers and score. If you have already finished today, switching stages shows that result. The full rules are on how to play and scoring.

Haunted Manor FAQ

Short answers about the lantern-lit stage.

What is Haunted Manor?

Haunted Manor is a free Noillirk stage where your answers carry a lantern-holding explorer through a mysterious house. There are six floors and 24 rooms, from the Lantern Vestibule to the Last Lit Window. The questions and scoring are the same as on the other stages.

Is this an escape room or a horror game?

The challenge is guessing the answer most people would give. You do not hunt for keys or solve room puzzles. The house supplies the atmosphere: watching portraits, a piano that plays alone, a strange reflection and a garden growing indoors.

How do I reach the last room?

Points move your explorer along the house's route. In a ten-question run, a perfect 2,500 points reaches the Last Lit Window. A twenty-question run scales the journey to 5,000 points. Endless uses cumulative points and reaches the final room at 10,000; answering can continue after that.

Will changing stages give me a new Daily?

No. Today's Daily, answers and progress are shared across stages in this browser. Switching to Haunted Manor resumes that Daily or shows its completed result. Choose Unlimited for a fresh run.

Can I play without sound or on my phone?

Yes. The game runs in a phone or desktop browser. Music and sound effects have their own controls, so you can explore quietly. No download or account is required to play.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. Finish a Daily or a finite Unlimited run and use Share & challenge. Your friend gets the same prompts and you can compare scores. Friends play in their own time and can choose their own stage.

The lamp is still on. Come inside.
